MEET JODY BELL

Hi, I’m Jody Bell.

I’m an RRCA Certified Run Coach based in NYC — and I didn’t always love running.

I used to do anything I could to avoid it. Somewhere along the way, that changed. One mile became two, then five, then 26.2.

I’ve since run the NYC Marathon three times and the Chicago Marathon once, and today I coach runners of all levels — especially beginners, first-time marathoners, and people balancing non-traditional schedules.

Alongside coaching, I work in the arts and co-lead The Public Theater’s Run Team. I understand what it’s like to train around rehearsals, performances, and unpredictable work hours — and I build training plans that fit real life.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m not a runner,” you’re exactly who I love to coach.

MY COACHING PHILOSOPHY

I coach runners of all levels, but I especially love working with new runners and first-time marathoners.

Why? Because I remember what it feels like to think running isn’t for you — to doubt your ability before you’ve even started. My approach is supportive, flexible, and grounded in helping you build confidence as much as fitness.

Whether you’re training for your first 5K, half marathon, or marathon, I create personalized plans that fit your life — not the other way around.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

  • A personalized training plan built around your schedule — not someone else’s

  • Clear guidance for beginners and first-time marathoners

  • Flexible coaching for artists, performers, and non-traditional work hours

  • Supportive accountability without pressure or judgment

  • A coach who meets you where you are and helps you build confidence over time

Running should feel challenging, not overwhelming — and you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Because if you run — in any way — you are a runner.
